2013 Artisan Entry Blog Hop - Day 1

Welcome to our 2013 Artisan Entry Blog Hop. Even though our entries did not make the finalist cut, they represent our best work and we put our hearts and souls into our finished projects. I hope you like our showcase.

Watercolor Poppies Card

For my first card I wanted to do something that was just plain pretty. The special elements I put into this card were the color scheme and the creped filter paper poppy. For the background colors, I was inspired by all the navy blue and emerald green I had seen together this spring. I then thought it would be fun to use the DSP stacks and turn the paper different ways. For the poppy, I punched out several scallop circles out of creped filter paper and died them Primrose Petals with my Aqua Painter. I glued them together and topped them with a small Summer Starfruit Circle that was spritzed and sponged in Early Espresso.

    2. Brenda, I love the wonderfuls moment when I realized that one of the poppies was 3-d. I actually gave a little gasp. It is beautifully created. I am also a big fan of the color combination (blue and green) and it sets off the poppies beautifully.
