When my downline Patti started talking about these sturdy little boxes that she made for the gift shop where she volunteers at, I knew I had to find out how she made them. Patti lives in another state, so we met on Zoom for a chat and we had a lovely time while she shared how she made her origami box. I loved the origami box, but it was hard to do the origami fold using card stock, so I figured out how to make the box using the envelope punch board, to make it easier and to eliminate some of the fold lines.
With a card stock base and a designer series paper top, this double-walled box is super sturdy and makes a nice presentation for a little gift. It holds four Ferrero Rocher Truffles perfectly and it makes a great box for giving jewelry. The Eastern Medallion Thinlits make an elegant and quick topper for the top of the box. If you would like to find out how to make this box, just watch my video tutorial above.

I love, love this box! I'm making the invitations for my sister's wedding and I think these little boxes would be perfect for wedding favors. Thank you for posting and thanks to Patti for the idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you love the boxes, Carrie!! Congratulations on your daughter's upcoming wedding!! :)
DeleteHello Brenda, love your tutorial. Did you make the earrings shown in the box on your blog?
ReplyDeleteLove in Christ,
Carmen G
Thank You!! No, I didn't make the earrings. My husband brought them back for me when he was in Barcelona on business. I think they are meant to be in the style of Gaudi. :)
DeleteHi, I would like to know if you would share measurements for different size boxes. Thanks! This is a great tutorial!
ReplyDeleteThis box measures approximately 2" x 2" x 1". I hope this helps. Take care, Brenda
