Thursday Tip: Lining Up Layers

Do you have trouble putting card fronts on your card bases straight? If you're doing one card you might try to eyeball it, but what if you have 10 or even 50 cards to do? How do you make it easier for yourself? My simple solution is: The Simply Scored Scoring Tool. As long as the layer goes to the edge of the card, you can use the top and/or side of the tool to align and adhere your card front. This tip would be especially helpful when attaching your swap card fronts to card bases.

You can also use the Simply Scored to line up smaller pieces of card stock, as in the example above. Use the ruler on the side of your Simply Scored as a guide to perfectly place your piece the correct distance from the top or bottom every time.

I shared this tip with my class during my Simply Elegant Christmas Card Class. All of my class cards had a different colored card base that needed to be attached to the card front. The perfectionists in the class loved getting their card fronts straight effortlessly. :) The snowflake card above is one of the cards we made for this class.
