My son's cross country season ended yesterday with the our last meet. He had a personal best and shaved almost 30 seconds off his previous best time. Hooray! His coaches were awesome and we wanted to give them a little gift to say thank you.
I thought it would be fun to come up with a shape card to conceal a gift card in. I discarded my original running shoe idea, because of time limitations and came up with a running singlet design instead. The card fits inside a note card-sized envelope (A1). I printed and cut out the school's logo to put on the front. This shape card could also work for other sports like basketball.
Here are the quick instructions.
- Start with a piece of card stock 10" x 3.5".
- On the long side, score at the 5" mark.
- With the card base folded, use large oval punch to make the arm holes. You will have to angle the oval until you get the correct curve.
- Use the wide oval punch to make the neck hole. I punched from the side using about half of the oval. Tip: Make sure you punch the arm holes first, otherwise the wide oval punch won't reach far enough in.
