Santa Patties

These Santas are a little thank you that I tucked into the club orders this month. They are free-standing Santas with a foil wrapped peppermint patty nested between the triangles. They would make a cute Christmas guest favor, a place card holder or if you put some ribbon on them, an adorable Santa ornament. My inspiration for these santa patties came from Sandy Hancock’s incredibly cute wine bottle topper.

For instructions and more photos, please see below...

Supplies
Short & Sweet Stamp Set, Card Stock: Real Red, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White; Ink: Real Red, Pink Pirouette; Punches: 1-¾” Scallop Circle, Ornament, Word Window, ½” Circle, Itty Bitty Shapes Pack,; Crop-a-dile ; White Gel Pen; Heat Tool, Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder, sticky strip; mini glue dots; Tombow Multi Glue, Pearson's Peppermint Patties.

Pieces
  • Triangular Hat/Body Pieces: Start with a 3-½” x 3” Real Red card stock piece. On one of the 3 inch sides, make a mark at 2”. On the other 3 inch side, make a mark at 1”. Using your cutter, cut from the 1” mark to the nearest corner diagonally. Then cut from the 2” mark to the nearest corner diagonally. Then cut from the 1” mark to the 2” mark. (see diagram below)
  • Beard: Punch a 1-¾” Scallop Circle out of Whisper White. Score and fold in half. Emboss one of the outer halves with Iridescent Ice EP. Stamp Greeting on the inside.
  • Head: Punch an Ornament out of Pink Pirouette CS. Use a round pencil eraser and pink pirouette to make the rosy cheek marks.
  • Nose: Punch a ½” Circle out of Pink Pirouette CS.
  • Eyes: Punch two Whisper White circles with the circle punch from the itty bitty shapes pack. Punch two Basic Black circles with the larger hole from the Crop-a-dile. Add eye detail with white gel pen.
  • Hat pom-pom: Punch one Whisper White scallop with the scallop punch from the itty bitty shapes pack. Emboss with Iridescent Ice EP.
  • Headband: Punch one whisper white Word Window Piece. Feed piece through one side and shorten to 1-3/8”. Emboss with Iridescent Ice EP.
    Assembly
Adhere the punched pieces of the face together with Tombow Multi Glue. Adhere the face onto one of the Real Red Triangles. Adhere a peppermint patty behind the head/triangle piece with sticky strip, making sure that the patty is hidden when viewed from the front. Adhere the other red triangle behind the peppermint patty with sticky strip, making sure that both triangles line up. Adhere the top of the red triangles together with a mini glue dot. Then adhere the pompom to the top of the hat with Tombow Multi glue.
