Birthday Card
Qbee's Quest: Post a card to my blog FINALLY
It's funny how at different times in your life you view time differently. Take my son for instance, he keeps asking me when will the school year EVER be finished (picture a child saying this with a dramatic sigh). I look at the calendar and think ... seven more weeks of school, YIKES!! Where did the time go? Seven weeks to me is more like seven days and therefore it should be of no surprise to you that I'm behind in posting to my blog. Insert apology to my Stampin' Up blog group here!!
Today, I'm posting a card that I made for a dear friend who had her birthday at the end of March. It was also sketch challenge #220 on SCS and I didn't get a chance to post it to my gallery there. I used one of my special KIDNEY brads. Yes, you read correctly, I wrote KIDNEY brads. I horde the Hooray Designer Hardware and therefore I have dubbed them KIDNEY brads, because they are so preciousssss, you almost have to donate a kidney to me, to have one make it on to your card. I hope you like it!
Supplies: Pun Fun, Occasions Collection Stamp Sets; Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Whisper White Card Stock; Raspberry Tart Designer Paper; Black Staz On; Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip Classic Ink; Valet Ribbon Originals; Hooray Designer Hardware; Aquapainter; Sponge Dauber.
Hee hee...LOVE! Love the card, love the colors, love the layout and yes-I leaned in closer to my monitor to look for said "kidney brad". Bewildered, I continued to read your entry and then I realized what you meant by kidney brad! If I ever get the fleurettes that's exactly what I will call them, Kidney Fleurettes, lol! Thanks for the giggle and did I mention I LOVE this card?

I really like how you coordinated the designer hardware with the paper colors, its a really pretty card.
ReplyDeleteYour card is so pretty. I just 'heart' that polka dot ribbon. Your friend is very lucky to receive this card, especially with the kidney brad.
ReplyDeleteI tend to hoard the things I love the most so your post made me laugh. Your card is great!
ReplyDeleteCount me in as another hoarder! You crack me up with your kidney brads!!! She's one lucky lady to receive this FABULOUS card! I love the colors and layout (and of course, that ribbon is delish!). TFS and putting a huge smile on my face! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gawd you are so funny. I feel the same way about certain products. I have things that I have saved for so long that now they are out of paper crafting fashion. Beautiful card, really like your color combo. TFS!
ReplyDeleteI love pink and brown together!!! This card is so cute!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about how time passes so quickly lately too... scary isn't it? lol
Love your card! The colors are so pretty! Time really does pass quickly, the older I get the more aware of it I am. Depressing!

Kidney brad! LOL! That sooooo fits how I use accessories!
ReplyDeleteI love your card - your main image is so cute and I would have not thought to put it with the Raspberry Tart. TFS!
This is so pretty! I love it!
