Thursday Tip: Lengthening Framelits

Thursday Tips, where I share ideas to make stamping easier

Would you like to get different sizes out of your framelits? Here's a quick tip to make it happen. The top banner is the one that you get if you cut the banner the regular way. The bottom banner is the size that I needed.

Start by cutting a piece of card stock the width of the banner you would like to have. In my case I wanted a 1-1/8" wide banner. Feed the strip into the banner framelit (the 3rd smallest in my case), making sure the card stock is under the 'V' and over the back end. Note: I put the card stock over the back end to remind myself not to crank the framelit all the way through.

Roll the framelit and card stock through the Big Shot just half way and then reverse crank your Big Shot, so that the framelit doesn't roll all the way through.

This is a close up of approximately how far I crank my framelit through before reversing it.

We made this card during my Spring Card class using the above technique to lengthen the banner. The banner is the perfect size for this card. If you would like to recreate this card find out the supplies you'll need and where to get them HERE!
