Birthday Basics Card 2

Did I already tell you how much I love the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper? I just love this new DSP for making quick and easy birthday cards. For this card I cut an oval with the Big Shot and the Ovals Collection Framelits. I then came in with my small heart punch and punched the bottom of the oval. Easy-Peasy!

Here are a few tips. I adhered the birthday basics paper to an equal-sized piece of card stock before cutting it with the oval, to give it more stability. I then popped this piece up with dimensionals to give it more depth. I cut two pieces of taffeta. One for tying the bow and the other for creating the "string" to the edge of the card.

Stampin' Up Supplies:

  • Stamp Set: Sassy Salutations (W 132070, C 126707)
  • Card Stock: Birthday Basics DSP (130145), Bermuda Bay (131197)
  • Ink: Versamark (102283)
  • Tools: Big Shot (113439), Ovals Collection Framelits (129381), Small Heart Punch (117193), Heat Tool (129053)
  • Embellishments: Bermuda Bay 1/8" Taffeta (131206), White Embossing Powder (109132)

Announcement: Squeee!!!! I'm on the Dirty Dozen

    WooooHoooo!!!!

Today I get to share with you a secret I've been keeping since July. I'm on the Dirty Dozen Design Team. Yes, it's true. Little me is on the Dirty Dozen and I get to play in the Dirt Pile with some other AMAZING, FANTABULOUS designers.

If you are scratching your head, wondering what I'm talking about, then you probably don't know of my long time obsession with Splitcoaststampers.com. Splitcoaststampers is a paper-crafting forum and gallery website that has been around for over a decade with over 300,000 members. I've been on the site for nine years and it's still my "go to" site for ideas and for chatting about the hobby I love so much.

The Dirty Dozen gallery at Splitcoaststampers is a special gallery for fan club members of the website. I have been a fan club member since the beginning and have always harbored a secret wish to be part of the exclusive Dirty Dozen Design Team. >>>>> Not that I ever thought I could attain such a lofty goal. Designers chosen for the Dirty Dozen represent many different styles and stamp companies, not just Stampin' Up!

If you would like to become a fan club member, please check out THIS PAGE to see what it's all about and how you can join. New fan club members have access to all the back galleries created by the dirty dozen designers before me. I won't be able to post the special things I create for the Dirty Dozen design challenges on my blog. They are for fan club members only, but you can see a blurred out photo of one my designs above. The theme for this month's gallery is "heat wave." If you're already a member of the fan club you can check it out HERE.

    Yippeee!!!!
