Love with a Kiss

This will be one of my January Stamp Club Workshop projects. My goal for the projects is for them to be easy to recreate with a little bit of WOW! I love how the Hershey’s kiss fits perfectly in the ‘O’ of ‘LOVE’ making this a fun little Valentine for a special someone.

Punching Hints: I adhered the ‘Love’ piece to the striped paper and punched both of them with the 1” circle punch at the same time. Just center the punch over the ‘O’. Then I adhered this piece to the front of the 3” x 3 Whisper White card base and punched the 1” circle through the card base. I kept the Early Espresso Eyelet layer narrow so that it would not need to be punched through by the 1” circle punch.

Supplies (Stampin’ Up): Sets: Filled with Love; Paper: Whisper White CS, Early Espresso CS, Love Patterns DSP; Ink: Real Red; Punches: Eyelet Border, 1” Circle; Real Red 5/8” Satin; Hershey’s Kiss.

Romantic Valentine

It's just a few days after Christmas and I'm starting to prep for my Valentine club workshop. There are a couple of little details on this card that came out of my experimentation. Game Spinner Hand Cupid's Arrow: I'm using the game spinner hands for a cupid's arrow. I cut the arrow in half using a pair of pliers to make it long enough. Decorative Label Punch Mini Label: I created a mini label from the Decorative Label Punch. I stamped my sentiment on a piece of card stock. I then aligned the sentiment at one of the small ends of the decorative label punch and punched. I then fed the punched piece back through one of the the short sides and punch again (see photos below). I also enjoyed using the lap of luxury paper for the color palette for this Valentine ... something different from the traditional red.

Stampin' Up! Supplies: Filled With Love Stamp Set; Card Stock: Concord Crush, Lap of Luxury, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White; Ink: Concord Crush; Pink Pirouette, Punches: 2-1/2" Circle, Full Heart, Small Heart, Decorative Label; Concord Crush Poly Ribbon, Game Spinner Hand, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Pretty in Pink Brad, Sponge Dauber, Scalloped Heart of Hearts Embosslit, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Dimensionals

Owl Punch Gift Bag

I had fun altering this wine gift bag and turning it into a smaller gift bag with a gift tag made out of the scraps from the original bag. The shiny red bag scraps made the perfect santa suit and hat for the owl. I used a small piece off of a cotton make-up pad to create the white trim on the santa hat and a white pompom for the top. It just goes to show you, that if you are pressed for time, you can use things around the house and a few of your stamping supplies to create great gift packaging.

Supplies (mostly Stampin' Up): Stamps: Tags til Christmas, Short & Sweet; Card Stock: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Soft Suede; Ink: Real Red; Accessories: Owl Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Crop-a-dile, Circle Scissors Plus, Silver Brads, Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain, Mini Library Clip, Big Shot, Scallop Circles #2, Flower Burst Embosslit, White PomPom, Black Sharpie, Cotton Make-up Pad, Wiggly Eyes

SC310 Bavarian Bird House

When I saw this week's sketch challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to use the Northern Hearts stamp set to recreate my childhood cuckoo clock. My German grandparents brought the cuckoo clock as a gift for my sister and I. We didn't get to see my grandparents very often and it is one of the few memories I have of them, as they both died very young.

As for the details, there is a lot of sponging going on. Almost all the edges are sponged. The poinsettias come from the Birds & Blooms Die Set. The roof of the bird house is two Modern Label Punch Pieces. The wreath is embossed with clear Embossing Powder on Old Olive. The Kissing Birds piece is embossed with Black Embossing Powder.

The little bird also comes from the bird & blooms die set and is actually attached to the inside of the card. He is fastened with a cherry cobbler brad on his tail, so that he can fed back into his house as needed. I punched a 3/4" hole in the wreath and the bird house and made a 1" hole with the Circle Scissors on the card base because the punch would not reach. I turned the bird into a cardinal by cutting a little triangle piece for the head and sponging his chest heavily with black. The rest of the cardinal is lightly sponged in black, including the wing. His little eye is a Rhinestone Jewel that has been colored with a black sharpie.

Supplies: Stamp Sets: Northern Hearts, Woodgrain, Four the Holidays; Card Stock: Old Olive, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black; Ink: Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black, Crumb Cake; Accesories: Birds & Blooms Die, Big Shot, Black & Clear Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Black 1/4" Grosgrain, 3/4" Circle Punch, Modern Label Punch, Circle Scissors, Glimmer Mist, Cherry Cobbler Brad, Sponge Daubers, Rhinestone Jewel, Silver Brads, Black Sharpie
